Public ranking
See how you stack up against the other students of English from scratch — the most XP wins! Join with a nickname, never your real name, and your score updates by itself after every lesson you finish.
The ranking could not load right now — check your connection and try again.
Pick a nickname: 3 to 15 characters, letters and numbers only, no spaces.
You have 3 hearts. Every mistake costs you one… and if you run out, the lesson starts over! Each correct answer is worth +10 XP, with a bonus when you chain correct answers together.
Practice the words of Information age, organized by the sections of your book: the two readings, Passive Voice I and II, and the writing pages — including the idioms with touch and the phrases with in. Every correct answer earns +10 XP, just like the lessons.
Write 20 words or more and save your text to earn +15 XP. The chips show the words of this unit that you use!
Four review exams with the exercise types of your book: multiple choice, word formation, open cloze and sentence transformation. There are no hearts here — it is exam practice! Each correct answer earns +5 XP, and your best score for each exam is saved.
The irregular verbs list of your book: base form, Past Simple, Past Participle and meaning in Spanish. Study the list, listen to each verb, and then test yourself with the practice quiz — no hearts, +5 XP per correct answer.
All regular verbs add -ed in the Past Simple — but that -ed has 3 different sounds: /t/, /d/ and /ɪd/. The secret is the last sound of the verb (not the last letter!). Learn the 3 rules, listen to the examples, and then practice — no hearts, +5 XP per correct answer.
Quick trick: only verbs that end in t or d get the extra syllable /ɪd/. With all the other verbs, -ed is just a quick /t/ or /d/ sound at the end — don't say "work-ed"!
The 45 sounds of English from your book: 24 consonants and 21 vowels. Each symbol comes with an example word and its transcription — tap the speaker to listen and repeat the word out loud.
